Obituary of Doris H. Pool

OBITUARY – Doris H. Pool – Chapin – A funeral mass for Doris H. Pool, 100, of Chapin, will be celebrated at a later date to be announced. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements. Doris Pool passed away May 15, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Alsfasser and Verona Goss Alsfasser.  Doris grew up in Rogers Park, Illinois graduated from Sullivan High School and went on to obtain her degree from Loyola University.  She was a devoted mother, homemaker and avid bridge player.  Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her daughter strong values that have served her well.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Carol Smith (George) of Chapin, and a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Edward A. Pool, Jr.; sister, Lois Tito; brother-in-law, Daniel Tito; sister-in-law, Almarie Mortell; brother-in-law, John Mortell.

The family would like to thank the staff of Regency Hospice for their wonderful, loving care that Doris received over the past year. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
